THE WATCH

The 9F62-0A10 Grand Seiko, with 9F quartz movement, one of the brand’s most advanced and refined quartz mechanisms. Grand Seiko’s 9F series was introduced in 1993 as a top-tier quartz movement designed to elevate quartz watches to a level of precision and craftsmanship typically associated with luxury mechanical calibers. It was built around a philosophy of high accuracy, durability, and premium quality.

At its core, the 9F quartz movement is engineered for exceptional accuracy. To achieve this, the 9F incorporates several signature technologies, including a Twin Pulse Control Motor that provides high torque so the movement can drive long, heavy hands while conserving power, a Backlash Auto-Adjust Mechanism to eliminate tiny gear play and ensure precise seconds-hand placement, and an Instant Date Change Mechanism that flips the date display virtually instantaneously at midnight. 

The 9F is also one of the most accurate quartz movements in the world, in addition, unlike most quartz movements the 9F is assembled and regulated by hand, similar to high-end mechanical watchmaking. This is rare for quartz and is a key reason the 9F helped re-establish quartz as a legitimate luxury movement, especially among collectors who value precision engineering.

The GS is understated, precise, and quietly luxurious, reflecting Grand Seiko’s design philosophy of “simplicity with purpose.” the watches features a clean, highly legible dial with sharp, mirror-finished hands and indices that catch light with a crisp, jewel-like sparkle.
