THE WATCH
This example from 1970 features the Skyliner's silver linen dial with minimal printing allowing for a minimal presence. The hour markers are sleek and simple and don't disturb the "Seiko" logo under 12 o'clock and the "Skyliner" text above 6 o'clock. Manual wind is nothing to be afraid of especially when you have a quick set date function - well before Rolex had implemented this. There is wear and tear as expected on a watch of this age. The watch comes on a brand new unworn black leather strap that suits it perfectly.
A BIT OF TRIVIA
The Seiko Skyliner range was a project worked on in the 1960's to 1970's placed right under Grand Seiko and King Seiko. Similar to the likes of Seiko's Sportsmatic, Lord Marvel & Lord Matic lines, the Skyliner was catered towards an everyday consumer. Produced in Seiko's famed Suwa factory - one of the factories created by Seiko to drive competition and innovation.

This Skyliner shares a lot of similarities in design ethos, visual identity and functionality to that of a Grand Seiko or King Seiko and at a glance you wouldn't know the difference. This 6100-8000 is in super condition and comes fully serviced ready to be taken on into the future.
