A BIT OF TRIVIA

The Seamaster Cosmic was introduced in 1967.  Jumping on the interest in space travel and everything space related. The continued relationship with NASA only strengthened Omega’s position, as a preferred manufacturer. It generated new life into the Seamaster range.

THE WATCH

This Omega Seamaster Cosmic Date 166.026 has an angular brushed case design, made from a solid piece of stainless steel. The flat back and angled sides means the watch is surprisingly comfortable to wear. The crown is signed. Its silver dial has a brushed surface, minute track and a 'cross hair'  with applied steel indexes that are chamfered at the edges which catch the light as you move your wrist. At 3 o’clock a date framed window. At 12 o’clock the applied Omega logo, printed underneath “Automatic”, at 6 o’clock “Seamaster” “Cosmic”  with "Meister" printed just above. On the reverse, the Hippocampus is etched proudly. Inside the Automatic Omega Cal. 565, 24 jewels, 19,800 beats per hour.
