The Lord Matic line is equipped with a sophisticated 56 series movement, and sports a high-quality case design and finishing that takes it to new heights of elegance. Although originally positioned just below the King Seiko line, the Lord Matic quickly gained market demand, becoming a sensation in its own right. Its movement, the 5606, emerged as one of the most prevalent Seiko mechanical movements of its time.

A BIT OF TRIVIA

Both Suwa Seikosha factory (the makers of Grand Seiko) and Daini Seikosha factory (the makers of King Seiko) produced Lord Matic watches. The Suwa Seikosha factory created those with the 5600-series movements while Daini Seikosha factory made the 5100-series and the 5200-series.

 Seiko's Lordmatic advertisements back then exemplified how Seiko positioned the Lord Matic watches as for “men on the way to the top.”. Today men and women wearing one have already reached the 'if you know you know phase'.

The Lordmatic Line was extensive and were available in a wide variety of dial and case configurations, we are lucky enough to have a few in the store. The specific model we're featuring here is the Lord Matic 5606-7072. It boasts a silver sunburst dial and a multi-dimensional brush and mirror-finished case. This watch has been carefully preserved, with the original finish maintained and all its history on show. The design adheres to the Seiko Grammar of Design and bears similarities to the 56 King Seiko produced during the same period.
