A BIT OF TRIVIA

The Omega Seamaster was first introduced in 1948 as part of Omega's 100th anniversary celebration. It was designed as a robust, water-resistant watch, drawing on Omega's experience in creating military timepieces during World War II. The initial models were highly influenced by Omega's "Marine" and "Aqua" watches, which were designed to withstand the rigors of underwater exploration and military use.

The Seamaster Cosmic was introduced in 1967, jumping on the hype for space travel and everything space related. The continued relationship with NASA only strengthened Omega’s position, as the preferred manufacturer. It generated new life into the Seamaster range. The production run was for less than a decade.

During a period when Omega was diversifying its offerings and experimenting with new designs. The Cosmic was unique in that it was not specifically a diving watch, unlike other models in the Seamaster line, but rather a more casual and stylish option with certain features inspired by the sports and diving genres.
